An  brief explanation about sources of electromagnetic fields and potential adverse health affects.

Where do electromagnetic fields ( EMF ) come from?

In this context EMF refer to artificially created EMF radiating from anything electric ( AC supply ). In other words any electrical appliances, flourescent lights, computers and electrical wiring will emit EMF.

The higher the electric current ( Power lines , meter box ) the higher the EMF. However, mobile phones and laptop computers also produce EMF / EMR.

What symptoms may I experience as a result of EMF / EMR exposure?

    * Fatigue
    * Difficulty concentrating
    * Foggy brain
    * Lack of short-term memory
    * Feeling very warm in the face when working on the computer
    * Often discharging a spark when touching objects or people
    * Only able to work on a computer for short periods of time

Some studies have linked EMF / EMR with serious illnesses. These include:

    * Leukemia
    * Brain tumours
    * Breast Cancer
    * Heart problems
    * Miscarriages
    * Reproductive problems
    * Alzheimer’s disease

How do I know what exposure levels are truly safe?

There are many conflicting studies and views regarding the effects of electromagnetic fields on the human body.

Controversy exists over acceptable levels of exposure in varying situations, types of fields and between adults, infants and children.

An all day exposure level of 1000mG + is considered acceptable by Australian standards, but in European countries like Sweden anything over 4mG is unacceptable. ecolibria practices the precautionary principle.

This means that we will work towards the lowest internationally enforced exposure level and will therefore eliminate or minimise any exposure over 4mG.

If you would like to investigate any of the thousands of studies conducted in this field, please visit the following site www.emfacts.com

This site details many of the tests conducted regardless of whether they found the EMF to be harmless or harmful.
